Elías Navarro
Elías Gabriel Cruz-Navarro (born Elías Gabriel Navarro) was a Latino guitarist and composer of mixed heritage. He met fellow musician Rafael “Raffie” Cruz at Berklee College of Music, later married him, and adopted Cruz-Navarro as their shared family name. Elías was estranged from his biological family after coming out as bisexual and became part of Raffie’s extended family network.
Music and Berklee
Elías played guitar and composed music. He met Raffie during a late-night jam session at Berklee when both were around nineteen.
Elías later provided guitar work and creative feedback for Raffie’s 2057 album, ‘’Inheritance’‘.
Family Background
Elías’s biological family rejected him after he came out as bisexual. Raffie’s family subsequently welcomed him into their extended chosen-family network.
Elías learned ASL so that he could communicate directly with Charlie Rivera, Raffie’s uncle.
Marriage and Parenthood

Elías and Raffie’s relationship developed from musical collaboration into marriage. They used Cruz-Navarro as their shared legal family name.
They later became the fathers of Christian Mateo Cruz-Navarro and Sebastian Gabriel Cruz-Navarro through surrogacy with Raquel, a private family friend. Raquel remained part of the children’s private family history, while the adults kept her identity and relationship with the family outside public coverage.
